Ki no Kenkyukai (Ki Society Aikido)
The Ki Society International was established in 1971 by Koichi Tohei, 10th dan in Aikido. Tohei Sensei was awarded this highest rank by Aikido Founder Morihei Ueshiba just prior to his death in 1969.
The Ki Society is dedicated to promoting health of both mind and body based on Ki principles. These principles all rest on the fundamental fact that the "mind moves body".
If we perform the arts of Aikido with only physical strength, our power is limited. But, if we master the principles of Ki, we will have the strength of mind and body unified.
The Ki Society aims to lead many people in practice of mind and body unification by making them aware of their own natural power. The Ki Society is dedicated to fostering happy, healthful lives, helping people strive to build a more peaceful society, nation and world. The Ki Society continues to train many instructors who will help you realise and experience directly the oneness of mind and body and apply this awareness in daily life.
